June 2012

June is the month of blossoming little helpers, assert-ors, subsequent time-out-ers, creators, actors, and imaginators! Will and Ada, always sweet and squeezable, now turning into curious, smart, thoughtful, funny, and dynamic little people. James and I are proud, amazed, and just plain happy to be around them.

This was an elaborate game of cupboard picnic. "Here you go Ada".
Ada helping dad at the plant nursery.

Never too many levels of shade this time of year.

Butterfly plant stick for helping so well!

June is also the month of a full pool. Happiness is a full pool.

Few things motivate Ada more than popsicles. Here a sweet treat after a busy morning picking vegetables at the farmers market.

This is a play dough ice cream party Ada was having with everyone in the house, including all her stuffed animals. Here is my cone.

Will and Grandma Cindy working on a "track". Kids love to line up anything at all to make a "track". One of our favorite games.

Here a "track" of little guys and trucks. Some people may call this a train kids. "no mom. track". OK. Track.

Big boy and girl setting the table. What age can they start folding laundry??? :)

San Diego 2012

We are getting smarter. This year, we took a week to live on the beach in San Diego.

I hope for a yearly picture just like this for the rest of my life.

Our trek to the beach each day from our porch.

My daring daughter took the waves instantly with pure joy. Will loved being BY the water, but waited until the last day to brave the wave running. And loved it.

Kite flyin'.

Boy with kite. On beach.

Ada kite running.
Ada spent a lot of time just like this.

Will loved running and jumping in the sand.

People watching.

Master bed closets make great twin toddler bedrooms.

Beach break.

Will sharing his goldfish cracker with a snail.

This is what a vacation boy looks like. Swim trunks, princess stickers, kite pieces to cast magic spells on people.

This is what vacation dad and daughter look like.
Beach running is hard work. We had a lot of down time too...

Lunch outing to Del Mar with "Uncle" Ian.

Girl will climb anything.

Hit up a candy store on our way out of town.

Sweet end to great family friend vacation!
