15 weeks old

Big times around the Gentry house these days. With Will still waking up 2-3 times a night, James and I started strategizing. Will has doubled his birth weight (and then some I'm sure) so we started introducing solid foods to his diet. He has had about a week of rice cereal and its a pretty hilarious ordeal. I think he's into it, even though he has a couple screaming fits mid-feed. I'm not quite sure how much he's actually eating, but we're proud of him for being such a grown up with a spoon and all.
Oh yeah, and he definitely still wakes up 2-3 times a night :). And did I mention how much bigger this kid is than his sister?! Crazy!

Ada and Will have also had their first swim! They behave in the pool exactly how they do in the bath--Will stretches out and enjoys a lazy float, and Ada starts kicking like a wild woman, swinging her arms the second she feels herself in the water! Will is the one going places on land, Ada in the water! They are both more mobile and coordinated in and out of water. Will has developed this cute, squirmy, army-like crawl to move around. He uses his head to help worm himself forward. Ada moves around the world in circles, rolling herself from side to side. She does this like a real Houdini these days, circling herself all around in a matter of seconds. They both still love their hands, opening and closing their fists, grabbing toys, sucking thumbs, mimicking mom. Growing like a couple adorable, squeezable weeds!

We are also having a fair share of tears this week though, as I suspect both of these guys are teething. Our house is covered in drool, and they both are looking for things to gnaw. Naps therefore have been a challenge again for Ada and Will, waking up frequently in tears, needing some extra cuddle time too. Nothing more heartbreaking than an Ada frown. I swear I heard my daughter laugh though. She looked right at Will and let out chuckle-y coo today, and I looked at her and said "Ada Marie, did you just laugh?", and she looked at Will, looked at me and did it again! It melted my little heart, and didn't happen again. That's growing up for you I suppose. Sometimes uncomfortable, but mostly pretty funny. Enjoy folks!

Hi we're twins. I think they may both be right handed. Also a pretty good shot to show how much more wide chested Will is than Ada.

My mom had a great suggestion. She told me that every year on her birthday she had a picture taken with my sister and me as a special way to document our growth. This is my first mom birthday picture--Amy 29, kiddos 3months.

Happy boy

Dad time in the morning before work. I didn't think we had enough pictures of James without a shirt on. Or Will in his duck nighty. :)

14 weeks, fifteen

Hi friends. Life in the Gentry house is more bustling every day. Will and Ada are growing at what feels like warp speed. We have some milestones since we last updated--they both have found their thumbs (!), Will can roll over from his stomach to back, Ada has slept through the night! We have no teeth yet, but a lot of drool and fussiness which makes me think we're getting close. They both love to find and grab their toys, and are starting to put them in their mouth.

They also continue to grow into their distinct selves. Will loves to use his big muscles--standing (with help!) and waving his arms. He gets a goofy smile on his precious little face every time he sees his mom dance, and waves his arms along with me! Ada prefers to sit, but loves to do so, having her toys in front of her, a thinking girl no doubt. Although not rolling over, she loves to scoot herself around in circles. I find her in a totally different part of her crib now from where I put her down. Her favorite position to sleep is rolled up on her side, feet crossed, and hands folded up by her head. Here are some highlights caught on film. Enjoy!

James and I cannot decide between these two of Ada on tummy time. As he said, "Oh I don't know, I cant get enough of that kid" :) 'nuff said.

They love to watch my face...their foot in my face...wow!

Mothers day...they both slept through it.

The best birthday presents. 29 will be a great year.

3 months!

Ada and Will turned three months old since our last post--I cant believe it! They continue to grow and grow. Since our last posting, Ada and Will are more aware of their own bodies and surroundings. They are fascinated by their hands--Will spends most of the day with his fist drawn, stickin' em up, and Ada is getting the open and close grasp. She is getting a hold of some of her toys after much concentration. She also met her feet although she cant figure out how to get a hold of them yet! They are also starting to notice each other which has been really fun for all of us. They will catch each others gaze and often follow with a big smile! Another big milestone in our house since our last posting is that we tricked Will into getting the hang of a beautiful thing called a nap! He has been a much happier baby now napping for more than 10 minutes at a time. Sometimes I have to wake him up from a three hour nap! Both continue to do well at night, Ada still our pro sleeper. She loves herself a good sleep. They both continue to master the smile and coo. Nothing better than catching Ada or Will waking up with a big smile on their goofy little face.

And, hey, James is back to having only one job to occupy his time (did you all know he worked every single day in April?!) and Amy got approved an extended maternity leave. I wont be back to work until mid-July which we are all relieved about. And with James being home a couple days a week we are really getting into a family groove. Here are some pics to show for it! Enjoy!
