THE GROWING GENTRYS: April 2013

I think April was really nice. Another reason people live in the desert is April.

Couple funnies I have been recording of these ever evolving goofballs:

Ada refers to Will frequently as "buddy"...often "lil' buddy". As in "come here lil buddy".

Will refers to our street as "planet earth". So that when we turn onto our street its "we're on planet earth" or "where do you live Will? Planet Earth". He's never wrong.

I asked Ada if her and her brother smiled for their school pictures and she replied "I smiled just like a princess and Will smiled just like my lil' Will buddy".

Some overheard 3 year conversations:

We play I spy on the way to school. If you can call it I spy. Its really just a game of guessing what the other person is thinking about. A popular Will one is "I spy with my little eye something far away and in the clouds". And the answer is a rotating variety of super heroes. "Nope mom, it Spiderman".

But one day Will actually spied something on the highway. "...something driving fast with wheels". Ada: "A peanut!" no. "Corn!" no. "Salsa!". Sure she had it each time. It was a car. He saw a car. No corn on the highway darling.

We're getting more sophisticated in our understanding of how the world works. Side note, Will did ask me what "Asia" was today. Huh?

One funny example is us reviewing babies and grown things. So " A cat is a grown up kitten. A rabbit is a grown up bunny." And Ada, pulling it all together, says "Just like an Easter bunny is a grown up dad". Hm. OK.

And since everything with that girl is "actually mom..."-- Actually? Where did you pick up actually?! -- I must say actually, these kids are pretty awesome. Enjoy April photo shoot, patient Gentry followers.

Tighter fit in the tub. This is the month we got real brave and learned how to lay on our backs in the tub.

Breakfast outside.

Park date with our buddies. This is a common Will "move" lately. Either a pirate "Arrr", superhero A B or C, or just what he does before he takes off somewhere. Like lookin' like a real boss.

Lady friends. Leah and Ada looking like their duck watching but really I think playing some grass pulling game.

In Cinderella slippers of course.

This park has an electric train that rides through the park. Girls just wanna have fun.

They were all saying "au revoir".

What a better end to a day in the park than frozen yogurt? They were doing this unprompted, you should know.

Will ALWAYS drinks every last drop. His flavor-chocolate. Ada's-vanilla. No matter what.

We expanded the garden. OK, James expanded the garden at my enthusiasm of pepper plants.

I cant see you, you cant see me. Just some bro and sis PJ time in Wills bed.

Its getting hot! This is a Saturday morning in the Gentry house.

April also involved a lot of hiking. James found a reserve that has a mountain the kids can peak and they got into it.

They love to pick rocks for water breaks. Ada is definitely calling Will "lil buddy" here, I can tell.

Loosing steam for the decline. Dad last one standing that can do the double carry.

We got a book from the library this month about a "King Jack" who played make believe king and castle with his friends, and so we thought we should have our own King and Queen.

Conquering something.

Grandma Cindy and Chips duck Sidney had more ducklings! So we had a brunch there to pet, play, and pretty much torture them. We gave watermelon rinds as a peace offering.
