Birthday mom

Amy turns 3-0!
Birthday shot one year ago. WOW!
I had a great 30th birthday with the family. James, Ada, Will, and I went on our first family hike in the north mountain preserve. The kids did great in their backpacks and doing some hiking of their own.
Ada amazed us at her rock climbing ability. She couldnt get enough.
Birthday hike followed by corndogs at the Phoenix Public Market of course!

Auntie Rachel met us for some full family fun! Corn dog guy, Short Leash Dogs, gives DumDums with their dogs. Brilliant.
Birthday complete with birthday dessert to share!

15 months

May has been a great month for Will and Ada. Weather has been in the sunny 70 and 80s and they are just stomping all over town. Literally, ask them to stomp their feet, and they get a funny little grin and march in place, stomping away. Major word development to report: Whats a fishy say? "Bubble, bubble, bubble". Ada says "Hi", sometimes with a cell phone to her ear and a coy grin on her face. All words aside, both kids are definitely more interactive with others and the world.

We love to spend much of the day pointing--Ada and Will can find the moon, their belly button, Tully and Tucker, the water filter on the fridge. Will loves bird watching in the backyard and in his books, getting very good at spotting and calling them--"burr". All of Wills words-ball, balloon, bird-are starting to sound into a morphed "baaah". By the tone he uses I can tell which he is referring to, also using "baaaah" for sippy cup, mom, and "hello pay attention to me". Kids also signing, Ada more so, can tell me when they're hungry, more, and all done. Ada also seems to have a couple signs she has created; lately, she is doing this thing to say "night night" by bending her arm up to rest her tilted head on. Please, thank you--not so much.

It is apparent to me this month, how much more context things have to Will and Ada's day. For example, they know when it's time to put shoes on and can go get the matching shoe for me to put on their foot. They understand routine--look for their toothbrush when they get into the bath, run excitedly to the back door when I sling the diaper bag around my shoulder. Once when they were tired and it was time for a nap, I said "OK, lets go ni ni", and they both stopped buzzing around, took my hand, and led me to their bedroom. Wha?! Hasn't happened since. :)

Also, imitators! From the talking on the cell phone and typing on the computer, to "smelling" flowers and stomping feet, to Itsy Bitsy Spider (Ada, "bity, bity" when she wants to sing, and does the motions to the words by just waving her arms around in the air!) and listening to heart sounds with our stethoscopes, these guys are really...amazing to watch.

15m check up stats:

Still a bunch of tall and slim kiddos!

Ada 22lbs 6oz and 94% in height (32.25 in)! Also big head--46.47cm, 75%

Will 23lbs, height 32.75in--a bit taller than Ada but only :) 91% in his height. HC 47cm, 45% for boys. Guess they count on boys having bigger heads in general :P

The PA is in, stethoscope, bucket, and bubble wand in tow.
Best part of a May Costco run? $1.39 frozen yogurt cup.

Wills dance move, always. Put your hands up!

Yep. We're wearing mom and dad's shoes. Walking in them, a bit more of a challenge. Here, Ada figured out how to wiggle her little toes into the flip flop. Will had a red heel on of mine the other day that he snuck off before I could capture it!

Goof. Babbling and rolling around on kitchen floor.

String cheese break/pile up. Middle of kitchen floor.

Mud face.

Cant fully appreciate that she is holding the giant stuffed dog with her right hand while puzzling with left hand. Foothills Library.

Finally! A chair that reallllly fits her! :) Also this picture is up to show how this shirt was intended to be worn...

...these pics are to show how Ada *actually* wears this shirt. Every.single.time. Slung around backwards.

In fact, most strapy shirts end up discombobulated by mid day.

Will's my little stacker, organizer. Here we have a tin of mints, play corn, and two mismatched play eggs on a Tupperware lid.
And here, measure cup, spoons, and almost Christmas plate in colander--"helping" mom with dinner.
Love this World. Dancing at the farmers market. Market kids.

This next series of pics I'll entitle "The Perrier Experiment" :). I kept all of them from this 10 minutes of OMG-so-much-fun because I can really see their thought process as they destroy this pack of bottled water. Stacking, lining, rolling, and eventually transporting! This right here, pretty much represents most of my days.

Ada went through this phase of opening her mouth like this as if saying "Oh", like a hundred times a day. If happy, surprised, showing off. Not making a sound, just "look at what I can do with my mouth". She must have gotten it from James and me; we figure that we must look at her like that a lot when we think she is doing something awesome.
Our other artist. Very intently painting, after of course he had a coat of blue on his lips.
Fun at the Children's Museum! When James and I go together, we can actually take a couple pictures of them.
Ada ran around the joint with a tea cup, which I found supremely adorable.

Will L.O.V.E.S. to wrestle. Here with daddy, to give Ada a break :)
Balls down the chute. My children are geniuses.
Yay!
Ill end with a series I call "My Daughter, My Diva" :)
Shades on in the museum, putting babies to bed.
Again "Ohhhh".
This, literally, the face she makes when she knows I'm taking her picture.
Stacking her broccoli on her sippy cup. "No way I'm eating THAT..."

"I'm cute, my mom's cute, and my dad is LUCKY" (note face full of food/dirt)
I'm stuck!

Need I say more?!
